Medium Gray

The content in these books won’t be very disturbing to most dark romance fans. Usually depicts unhealthy relationships and consent violation that’s more dubious than hard noncon. More focus on the victim’s physical arousal than negative feellings and reactions, though both are generally present.

Dark Gray

Dark romance readers may find these books on the darker side, but not terribly oppressive. Stories may focus more on the victim’s negative feelings and reactions to assault and other acts of abuse, along with physical arousal. May contain more overt violence and other common triggers.

Darkest Gray

These are the darkest books I write. Not quite dark enough to call pitch black. The victim’s violation may be depicted in a more realistic manner with a greater focus on trauma responses, extreme negative feelings, and lasting damage, but still a focus on eroticism at least half of the time. There may be a greater rate of other common triggers, such as graphic violence and gore. Endings may be more tragic or brutal.
